A Quantitative Assessment of Operational Use Evaluation of Information Technology: Benefits and Barriers

This paper explores issues related to Operational Use Evaluation of Information Technology – sometimes referred to as PostImplementation Evaluation. The paper presents a study where a sample of organisations has been surveyed with regard to their Operational Use Evaluation implementation policies. The aim of this study is to elicit and assess the extent to which Operational Use Evaluation is practiced. A second objective is to identify the main benefits, and the main barriers against implementing this type of evaluation. Findings suggest that Operational Use Evaluation is thought to be important for organisations.
